School's Out for Christmas! Day 1

We had a weird schedule this year. The kids had to go to school 1 day, Monday, December 19. It was just a day for their "Happy Birthday, Jesus" parties and then we were out on break.
So the story behind Rhett's cap is that his dad took him Christmas shopping to pick out gifts for siblings and grandparents and he ended up buying himself a very large Puma cap with his own money! πŸ˜‚He cannot stop wearing it! He said he'll take it off in the classroom but put it back on at recess. πŸ˜‚ And instead of wearing the cute reindeer shirt I bought him he chose this Grinch shirt for the Happy Birthday, Jesus party. πŸ˜‚ I love him the way he is. My kids have their own style.

Then there is this one. She has begun throwing herself down on the ground and stretching out and screaming when she doesn't get what she wants. This is what it looks like when you tell her she can't play with the dangerous cleaning chemicals under the sink.

The next day was Tuesday, December 20, our first official day of Christmas break so I asked my mom if she would watch the little kids for me so I could enjoy at day with just my big kids. We went to the Gaylord in Grapevine!

Cupcakes and hot chocolate after ICE!

Then some sledding!

That same night was Kellyn's Christmas performance. It's nothing fancy. They actually call it a show off night to show what all they do in their dance classes then perform a dance to a Christmas song.

A Week in December and the Helicopter House

Bo helped me go shopping for teacher's gifts at Trader Joe's.

Priscilla challenged Cinnamon. Oh these 2.

My Maw-maw bought Priscilla these 2 new outfits and I just had to get her pic in them.

I had lunch with Kellyn and Rhett as school thanks to my mom for watching the little ones during their naps!

My mom bought Bo and Priscilla matching Christmas Aggie shirts!

Max helped me manage them at a birthday party. :)

The birthday party was on a Friday, December 16, in Carrollton not too far from the helicopter house! So week took the littles for the first time. We wanted to make the drive last year, but last year we had a baby that screamed bloody murder every time she got in the car and wasn't sleeping thorough the night so I just wasn't up to it last year. But this year we are back and better than ever.

The next morning we had a lazy Saturday so the big kids taught the 2 year old about Pokemon cards. :)
That afternoon Kellyn and I decided to attend Footlight's Nutcracker while Max and the rest of the kids were at the neighbor's house for a birthday party. We decided to go last minute when she found out that her jazz teacher was going to be the snow princess and her ballet teacher was going to be the Sugar Plum Fairy. And just like that someone who "hates ballet" LOVES it and wants to try out for the Nutcracker next year. :) It was so fun getting that one on one time with her! But then later that night she really impressed me and showed her maturity when she put her baby sister to bed while Max and I were dashing back and forth to and from the neighbor's Christmas party. When I came to put the baby to bed she was already down. When I came to put the almost threenager to bed he wanted his big sister. When I came to put her to bed she had already showered and was reading a book. Wow! She had matured into a wonderful young lady before our very eyes and we have slowly begun to enter a new phase with an up and coming babysitter in the house!

When we left the house it was in 70's. When we walked out of the show it was in the 40's! The next morning was freezing so the boys were obsessed with breaking ice. :)

Family Christmas Card Photo Shoot

On Sunday, December 11, we picked the kids up from parent's house then headed over to Christmas Tree farm a.k.a the pumpkin patch with my dad so he could take our picture for a Christmas card. It was insane, but so much fun! It was a warm December day so we played outside!

At one point we couldn't find Bo. He had climbed up on top of the monkey bars by himself.

I may have lost control of this photo shoot early on. :)

 Free hot chocolate!

The ladybugs were everywhere and on everything!

Merry Christmas from my perfectly put together people. Once upon a time my little family used to all matchy match and smile pretty for the camera, but a baby changes everything! Christ is born! Joy to the World!

Back at the house that night the littles are drawn to the light. :)
