DIY Projects!

So I casually told my friend that I don't really like our old brown, round table, but it's so functional and useful. We really have no choice but to keep it. She suggested I paint it white with chalkboard on top, so I did! And I LOVE it!

While at Home Depot getting the paint I also picked up a big piece of peg board to hang raincoats. After Max cut it I didn't want to leave any pieces unused. 

It was such a gorgeous week last week. I think the warm nice weather gave me the crafting bug because after I finished the table I had some left over paint which lead to more projects. 

So I went to Hobby Lobby and discovered they were having a 65% off sale on some big frames which gave me the idea for what to do with the leftover peg board.

I've been wanting to make this rain gear rack for a long time. You see, we don't have a coat closet. We have some coats in our rooms and some in the hallway on a coat rack, but we needed more space for coats. So I thought we should at least hang out wet raincoats up in the garage before we drip water in the house. Since our rain boots were already out there it made since. So I painted some peg board with chalkboard paint and hot glued ribbon around it. Hanging it was the tough part. 

This project I had originally planned to be smaller, but when I found a large frame on sale that fit the big piece of cork board perfectly I went for it. And I found this cute fabric at Hobby Lobby too. It's called duck fabric. I think it looks good with our new red coach and CostCo pillows. I plan to pin my instagram pictures on it, but Kellyn has taken it upon herself to pin her artwork up in the meantime which is kind of cute.

 

Then I noticed how bare my front door looked since I took our Christmas wreath down so I make one similar to something I saw on Pinterest. 

And lastly I had some left over Mason Jars from Christmas gifts I made and decided to use them to organize our office/ art supplies. I love it and so wish I had thought of this sooner. 

I did all of this last week while the weather was sunny and glorious. So then this week while it is muggy and raining I've been hanging it all.
