Babysitting and Walking

Baby Lauren's daddy had a dentist appointment on Thursday. Amy called me and asked if I could watch Lauren and then asked if she could stay a little longer to give Jason a chance to catch up on some much needed sleep. Then I asked her if we could keep her until after Kellyn got home from preschool. We ended up keeping her from 9:40 to 3:20!
By the end of the day my hair ended up in a disheveled ponytail.

Babies are way easier to care for on a full nights sleep. They sleep a lot more than I remember. Although, her parents said she is really good during the day and not such a good sleeper at night. Now that, I do remember.

Max had a slow work day so he took Rhett to Gymboree for me. They came home with new bubbles! Then we played outside while Lauren napped. Here Rhett said he was making mud cookie dough...yumm.

Rhett never wanted to hold her, but he was really adamant about her playing with his old squeaky giraffe. He finally just laid it beside her in the pack N play.

He said he wanted to hold her but then he moved his arm out from under her and said he wanted her to sit by him.

My mom picked Kellyn up from preschool for me. She ran in the house ready to see baby Lauren. She had been waiting to hold her for months! She was overjoyed this moment had finally arrived! She talked to her and told her how beautiful she is and how she would grow up to be a princess just like her. :)

Kellyn got out her pink fuzzy blanket for Lauren to lay on. At which time Rhett decided he wanted to lay by her.

After Lauren left we went for a long walk. Despite the fact that it is January 19 (winter) it was 69 degrees and gorgeous and supposed to be warmer tomorrow. I mean, I was wearing shorts and a tank top, crazy! But not really that crazy for Texas. We don't really have different seasons we just have different days except for the summer. It is just dangerously hot every day then.

A boy and his prissy cocker spaniel.

We found water flowing down the ally. We immediately had to stop to see what might be floating in it.

We found this little area of sandy dirt on the sidewalk and had to stop to write our names and draw pictures. We spent about 30 minutes here.

We continued our walk down to where the woods used to be. We used to dead end into trees, but unfortuneately all those beautiful trees are gone and have been replaced with townhomes and appartments. And on a side note: we saw a bobcat across the street at our house. It was going door to door looking for bunnies. It was about the size of Miss Lily, gray stripes, pointy ears, and bobbed tail. It walked like a lion and we saw it jump on a rabbit. All these animals have been misplaced due to the construction. Kellyn first saw it while on her scooter and Miss Lily was barking like crazy. We had hold her back. It was a little scary, but it looked like a baby and it didn't seem to be interested in us or our dog. It was so focused on those rabbits which might be a good thing because we have way too many of those around.

After our walk we went in the backyard to play in the sandbox. Yes, it was that warm. Warm enough for us to take the lid off our sandbox and play in it.

And you know it was a good day when you end it with muddy feet and a Sonic drink.
