Candy Christmas Trees

I had a fun project planned for Kellyn and during baby brother's nap time yesterday. This just would have been to messy for an 18 month old to join in on. I got this idea from The Activity Mom's blog. She calls them Ice Cream Cone Trees. They were so fun to make and turned out so cute.

lay out parchment paper for the cones to dry.
The Icing
2 large egg whites
2 1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Green food coloring
To Make the Icing: Whisk the egg whites until frothy. Whisk in the powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth and incorporated. Stored in a closed container in the refrigerator the icing will keep for up to 3 days. (For those who are concerned about consuming raw egg products, use pasteurized egg whites, available at most grocery stores.)
roll the cones the icing

Add M&M's or Skittles to your trees.

After Rhett woke up from his nap and the Christmas Trees were dry we bagged them up along with the gingerbread cookies we made on Tuesday and delivered them to our neighbors. Kellyn just cracks me up with the outfits she chooses to wear.
