When we left for church that morning at around 8:30 a.m. it was raining, but we knew the snow was on it's way. By the time we got back in the car to head home around 10:45 a.m. we began to see sleet and freezing rain mixed in with the rain. Then by we got home at 11:00 we saw snow flakes with the sleet, but by noon it was full out snowing!!
I just love it that they want to hug each other while it is snowing. Kellyn was not willing to take her skirt off so we made her put sweat pants over her tights to play in the snow. |
Rhett didn't really know what do with the snow. He just wanted to jump and splash in the puddle of freezing cold water, but he is so cute we just let him do whatever he wants. :) Kellyn, however, could not have been more excited and immediately made a snowball to throw at Daddy.
Rhett's socks, shoes, pants, and gloves were completely soaked. That kid is just drawn to water no matter what the temperature. He took his gloves off and Daddy made a snowball for him.
Last year it snowed here in Texas 5 times! It even snowed on Christmas Eve, Rhett's first Christmas! Kellyn was 3 years old at the time and could still remember it. She had been asking when it was going to snow since the 1st of December. Then when we were packing up the Christmas decorations and tree she kept saying that Christmas wasn't over because it hadn't snowed yet. She finally got her wish on Sunday, January 9.
I love this picture of her looking up at the snow falling down her with such wonder and excitment.
After Rhett woke up and we had some snacks they were ready for round two. Max wanted to take Lily out for a walk to prevent her from having any accidents in the house. She doesn't like to get her feet wet and won't go outside unlessed forced. We bundled Rhett up in the overalls that his Uncle Jacob gave him for Christmas. He makes such a cute little farmer.
Taking Lily on a walk in the freezing cold. The kids and I didn't last long. We headed back to the house after about 10 minutes.
What a fun yet cold day! Snow is just more fun with kids.
