The Nurturing Big Sister

Rhett got a new dinosaur so Kellyn dressed it up like a princess and made it a comfy bed to help it feel more at home. I laugh every time I see this picture. This dinosaur with it jewels and pink bed is on the floor of our living room. We have to step over it.

She has made Rhett and I play this new game called "Baby and Momma." She makes Rhett lay down with her in the tent and take a nap and cry like a baby then I bring them their bottle, blankie or paci. Then we switch and I have to be the baby and lay down in the small tent and cry for my Momma. Rhett just does whatever his sister tells him. Although, lately he has been meowing and pretending to be a kitty cat instead of a baby. :)  It's progress.

Ok, so here we may have a problem. Kellyn and I may have spoiled Rhett for his future wife. He hurt his finger while playing. He was crying so I laid him on the couch with his blankie. Kellyn immediately went to him and told him to sit up so she could put a pillow behind his head and gave him his Woody doll. She spoke so nurturingly to him asked what else she could get him to help him feel better. It was just his finger! And he stopped crying very quickly. But we like pampering him. This may come back to bite us later and my future daughter-in-law might not appreciate it, but for now he is our sweety baby :)

Does anyone else have a nurturing girl or did you baby your baby brother?

  1. I think we learn to treat others by following examples of how other people treat us. You and Kellyn are teaching Rhett to be a good husband and father.

  2. Awww, thanks. I'm going to choose to look at it that way instead. So to my own baby brother I say, "You are welcome."
