Ranger's Game! on 9/11

My mother-in-law, Ann, invited us to a Texas Ranger's game on Sunday, September 11, 20011.  It was the perfect place to be on this day 10 years after terrorist attach America. What is more American than baseball and hotdogs?!
It was cap day at the ball park. We all got free Ranger's caps!! The kids wanted to wear them immediately. Rhett's is a little big, but so cute. :)

It was a very emotional day. First we went to church where I cried numerous times especially when we sang Amazing Grace. I get chocked up just typing the name of that wonderful song. God is so good and so amazing and His grace abounds daily.

Then I cried some more at the game as I watched a 10 year old boy who's mother was rescued from the rubble while pregnant with him throw out the first pitch. Then of course I cried like a baby as we sang God Bless America and The Star Spangled Banner.
I cried again after the 5th inning when a 100 year old war veteran was held up to stand by 2 men so we could honor his service to our great country.

Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
My sweet boy respectfully removed his hat and placed it over his heart as he looked up and saw all of us doing it. I smiled down at him in approval and Max quickly snapped this picture that I think I will frame and hang in his room.

Yes, I wore Rhett on my back in my Ergo to and from the parking lot. He kept saying, "Me ride Mommy's back." He loved it.
This has got to be the best baby product I ever invested in. I bought it when he was 4 months old per the suggestion of my friend, Sarah Heidler, and I'm still able to use now that he is 27 months old. Rhett hated his car seat and strollers so I carried him on me in front for a long time every time we took the dog for a walk, went to the park, grocery store, cooked dinner....then when we was 12 months old I moved him to the back. I have loaned it to 3 friends and have really gotten my money's worth out of it.

And on a side note: Texas is still burning! This is bad really, really bad. Please pray!! The fire fighters are fatigued and many in Bastrop are homeless including students and teachers. Fire Fighters are coming in from all around the country to help with these uncontained wildfires. This is the worst disaster my beautiful state has ever experienced. Please pray for rain. Proceeds from the "Pray for Rain" t-shirt go to The Texas Wildfire Relief Fund.
Matthew 18:20 - For where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them.
