Brother/ Sister Day!

We have been doing busy every day this week with friends and family. So today I decided we needed to spend some time together to kind of calm down before the big day. The first thing Rhett said when he woke up was,"Buy Sissy present." He remembered that today was the day that they get to buy each other a Christmas gift. So sweet. Then when we waled into the kitchen he was ready to decorate the gingerbread house because I told them that when they got up in the morning that we would finally decorate our gingerbread house.

Rhett and I decorated the gingerbread house for a while before Kellyn finally woke up. He was surprising meticulous and symmetrical as he chose where to put each piece of candy.

After a while Kellyn and Daddy joined in on the fun.

Soon after breakfast it was time! Time to go to the 99 cent store! Kellyn said she knew just the perfect thing to get Rhett. I took zip up grocery bag with us and told them that when they saw something that their brother or sister would like to quickly drop it in the bag before they could see it. It worked out great and then we continued on shopping for Daddy, Mimi, Jo Jo, Uncle Jacob, Maw-maw, Gamy and Popi. I think they will all be surprised at the gifts the kids chose for them. :)  Kellyn really loved picking out just the right gift for each person. However, they weren't done. They both said they wanted to get a t-shirt for Uncle Jacob either an Aggie shirt or a Cowboys shirt. So funny how specific they were. I figured Old Navy would have good, cheap t-shirts for them to pick from. Well, all the Aggie ones were sold out except for a size small. However, the kids found a Grinch shirt they just had to get for Uncle Jacob! Oh how thrilled he will be. :)  After having a special treat of Chick-fil-a for lunch we all helped wrap the Christmas presents which is Kellyn's favorite part.

Kellyn has just been so giving this year. She has developed such a giving spirit this year. This is the first year she has really gotten it. She has been wrapping up her books and giving them as Christmas gifts to her friends. It's been a little much, far more than I ever expected her to do. And now she has started to glue some of her "special rocks" on the  packages as an added bonus. :) She says the true meaning of Christmas is Jesus and giving your things to make others happy. She learned that at church, but for some reason it stuck this year.

After nice long nap time due to the cold, dark day, we had a Disney movie night thanks to Jason for loaning us Mikey's Christmas Carol and Up, 2 from his vast Disney movie collection.

I finished up baking a billion cookies. Max and Rhett licked the beaters. I just thought it was so cute to see them doing it together. Like father like son.
