I seriously had no idea what I was getting into when I signed Kellyn up for a little dance class back in August. I just thought we were doing a fun little dance class once a week to fill our time on Friday mornings. No big deal right? Wrong. When I got the recital packet informing me of the extra practices and required make-up I realized we weren't in Kansas anymore, Toto. First of all I had to put make-up on my baby 5 year old girl. And not just any make-up. Full out red lip stick, blue eye shadow, heavy blush, mascara....seriously? They are 4 and 5! Oh and we had to buy fishnets for our little girls. Crazy! Then we spent hours at the studio Saturday for pictures and hours at the studio on Monday night for Act 1 rehearsal just waiting our turn to do 1 little ballet dance. Tuesday night wasn't as bad because they let all the 3 to 5 year olds go first. They realized it was too caotic to make those little ones wait in a holding tank for that long. Then Friday came around and we had to be at the high school at 6:00 p.m. to run through the whole show. We were there for 2 hours when they decided to let the little ones do their 2nd dance and go home. Thank God!
Kellyn and her friend Presley waiting instructions for which dressing room we are in. Oh and by the way, I was assigned the role of Stage Mom. That wasn't so bad. I kind of liked it actually.
My sweetie baby on stage. My parents have the video of the performance. Once I get it from them I upload it here. They came to help with Rhett and because you can't take pictures or video the night of the actual recital.
Their ballet was done to the song "Pure Imagination" from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
Looking at themselves in the mirror before they go on for their 2nd dance.
Here they are doing their tap routine to "Broadway Baby."
She is the tallest one. And seemed to know the routine pretty well.
We were worn out and just had to get snow cones after that long rehearsal.
