The Rain is Coming!

By the time Kellyn was home from preschool I had created this fun scavenger hunt for her. I had her play it while Rhett was napping. I made her only search outside. She is so into treasure hunts and learning to read and this incorporates both in addition to identifying feelings. For purple she found a purple paint stain on our outdoor table. Later that night we let Rhett play it in the living room to help him better identify colors. Then we got our the Flip Flop Faces Face since it is good for color and feeling identification as well.

This dark picture was taken at 4:30 in the afternoon onTuesday! Rain was on the way! Kellyn wanted to play outside one last time before it rained so she road her scooter around the culdesac.

While Kellyn was at preschool Rhett worked on learning shapes. He painted ovals for everyone in the family. When Kellyn came home he was so excited to give her the picture he painted specifically for her. He asked her many times if she liked her oval. Of course she said yes and and how he knew that pink was her favorite color of paper and went on and on about the details of the picture that she liked. This gave her the idea to make a Rhett a picture he would like. He loves to draw with glue and put sand on it (sand art). She wanted to make him some sand art, but I told her she could not bring sand in the house. So she hurried quickly to make it outside next to the sandbox before the rain hit hard. Rhett was kind enough to hold his umbrella over her while she created his picture in the rain. These pictures were taken a little before 5:00 and it was already dark. They are so sweet to each other. I just pray this will last throughout their lifetimes.
