Max chose to work on Saturday so we made the best of it with a silly, Saturday, breakfast special of numbers and names.
Their ages :)
Rhett is learning how to spell his name and how to identify letters. I thought this might help reinforce what he has learned. They both loved it!
After breakfast they laid down together to watch cartoons. They don't get to watch t.v. in the mornings except for Saturday. They only watch 1 show after nap time each day. I kind of look forward to Saturday morning t.v. time myself :)
It was just a gloriously sunny day we walked to the park.
We have these hills at our park. Kellyn told Rhett and I to stay on one hill while she went to her hill to wait for us. When she gave us the signal we were to walk over to her and "knock on the door." Sometimes she would pretend to not be home and sometimes she would let us in.
Then Rhett and I would walk back to his hill and she would come knock on his door and we would all play together. :)
She wears the strangest things. The girl wears skirts everyday, but today for whatever reason she said this outfit wasn't right for a skirt. What the heck! I love that they were holding hands to play.
I thought playing for so long outside would have worn them out, but they never rest on Saturdays. So Rhett didn't take a nap, but he was so good and quiet in his room until came to get him. Then Max came home at 4:00 and said I could go get a mani/ pedi and eyebrow wax since I was had to "work" all day on Saturday too!! He is so awesome! I had just asked him if I quickly go get an eyebrow wax in preparation for the wedding we were going to on Sunday, but he said to get it all and relax! I left about 4:30 and got home at about 5:45 then we called our friends, Jason and Amy to see if they wanted to go to dinner at Fuzzy's Tacos with us. They said they were on their way out the door and meet them there now! So we quickly got ourselves together in time for dinner. We got to see baby Lauren and hear how frazzled the new parents are because their precious little baby won't sleep :) There truly is no worse tired feeling than that brain dead exhaustion a newborn brings you. Kellyn of course brought a gift of things she had in her room for Lauren (bracelets, books, blankets, notes, pictures...) She is so sweet and giving. I am not keeping Lauren as planned until Jason finds a job. Please pray for them in this difficult and uncertain time.
