Texas Bluebonnets 2011

First of all let me just tell you why I make the entire family get their picture in the bluebonnets and not just the kids like most people. It is because April is my favorite month of the year and living in Texas it is especially beautiful. I dreamed of having an April wedding. I had flowers that looked like bluebonnets on the reception tables along with Easter eggs favors on each plate. We were married on April 12 so every year we celebrate our anniversary the bluebonnets are blooming. For our first anniversary we drove to Fredericksberg and enjoyed looking at the bluebonnets the whole way there. And then this year for our 8th anniversary we drove to Arkansas and again got to see bluebonnets all along the way. I like to get our picture each year together to show how we have grown and changed and our family has grown and changed. Plus, Kellyn's birthday is October 12 so her half birthday is April 12. When she turned 6 months old and then 18 months old I had her  pics in the bluebonnets and since it was a special day for us as a couple as well I thought we would get family pics too. Then we just kept doing it as a family.

Normally this field is covered in a sea of blue, but this year not so much. Oh well, while the bluebonnets were not that good this year the photographer was. :)
She is a high school friend who always takes our annual bluebonnet pictures
and yes, that is our baby Rhett on her blog.

Kellyn found a lady bug and Rhett found a rock.

One last family picture and then
it was time to go home! So they ran for the truck.
