Just the 1st week of June

We have hit record high temperatures this year for the 1st week of June, but we have also reached a record number ice days and a record number of tornadoes this year as well. It has already reached 100 degrees here in Texas so we have had to find ways to stay cool every day.

We went to my parent's house on Sunday, June 5 to celebrate my dad's birthday which is actually on June 7. They put up the pool and kids went wild. It was at this time that I realized Kellyn might not need a month of swim lessons like she did last year. I was amazed at how she remembered everything from last year and just began swimming like it was nothing.

Happy Birthday, Dad!
After celebrating my dad's birthday on the 7th we gave the kids a bath and put on their pj's to go home, but Max was so interested in the stack of hay bails parked beside our car that he began to climb them.  My parents had just picked them up and were going to begin unloading them that night. So once the kids saw Daddy climbing it they wanted in on the action too.  Hay always seems to be a fun thing for city slickers :)

Bring it on summer!

The Castle Hills Spray ground was super fun!
I thought Rhett wouldn't like it because he doesn't like to get his face splashed, but he loved running through it. And it shot up really high. We met Kellyn's playgroup there along with the Fricke's.

It just isn't summer until you have snow cones.

We went to the Castle Hills pool with our Life Group.
Kellyn swam with Rhett in the Mommy and Me floaty :)

Happy Start of Summer!

After 3 days of sun and swim and Kellyn having swim lessons every afternoon, I needed something air conditioned so we took the kids to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs at Studio Movie Grill. We all split a popcorn and slushy. This kept Rhett entertained, that along with his own shoes (they light up).
