December 1st Festivities!!

First of all, today is Rhett's 1/2 Birthday! He is 2 1/2 years old today! I never could have imagined that he would be fully potty trained by the time he was 2 1/2, considering the fact that his sister was not fully potty trained until she was 3 years and 3 months old. I think he is just a freak of nature, but whatever, I'm not complaining. It's just who he is and has everything to do with his personality. See what I wrote about Rhett and his personality style last year when he turned 18 months old. Oh, and he is  talking a lot more...a lot more! And he LOVES trains and building train tracks and towers. He also likes to play army men. He loves playing with his toy gun and toy sward. But his favorite thing of all time is cooking! He is always helping me in the kitchen and making pretend soup with random things like water, sand, toothpaste....It is not always with approved ingredients.

Next... Today is the 1st day of December so we began our Advent book!

We waited until Daddy got home so he could participate with us. Max read the Bible verses.

Then we made the ornament.

Jesus is the Light in this dark world!

After we made our ornaments all four of us got into our big closet, closed the door and turned off the lights. We talked about how it is so dark you can't see each other and we feel a little afraid because we don't know the truth about what is around us. Then I went and got the candle and we talked about how we aren't scared anymore because we can now see the truth. At first they liked it and Kellyn said it was a fun adventure, but then Rhett said, "Me get out." And Kellyn said she hopes that we don't have to be locked in the dark tomorrow for our activity. haha!

What a fun and special night. Looking forward to the next one.

And on a side note, I got my Simply Stashed pocket organizers in the mail yesterday!!  I can finally clearly see all the craft and office supplies we have. These were on sale for about 40% off on zulily a few weeks ago so I jumped on them immediately. I knew they would sell out quickly because they were on zulily this summer and sold out before I could buy one, but not this time.

I hung the Mini Stash over the front of the laundry room door.

I hung the Variety Stash over the back of the laundry room door. Since it is longer and has more stuff in it I wanted it more hidden.
