Today was a fun and busy day.
Sarah was in town from Austin with her 2 boys so we had a little play date at my house. Kristin came over with her 2 boys as well so Kellyn was the only girl amoung 5 boys. She did well though. She was sweet to offer to swing them.
Kellyn kept taking pictures of Asher with my phone.
I told Rhett we were going to make cookies so ran to put on his Santa hat and came back saying HO HO HO.
After all the boys left we made a batch of gingerbread man dough to be cooked tomorrow. Love how Kellyn shares with Rhett like he is a dog.
That night we took Amy and Jason dinner so we could go see their baby, Lauren Marie. Because she was in the hospital for a week we gave them extra time to be home before we went to see. However, my pediatrician told me when Kellyn was a newborn that it would be best if you didn't have visitors until the baby was at least 3 weeks old. So I've tried to stand by that for my friends. Baby Lauren is now 3 1/2 weeks old and we were chompin' at the bit to see her.
Kellyn had been working for weeks putting together gifts for baby Lauren. She wrapped up a lot of her old baby clothes that I had saved for her to dress her dolls in and some of her old baby blankets. She wrapped them herself and put glitter on them. They both made cards with stamps. Max is holding up Kellyn's card to Amy since her hands were full.
And here she is. Sweet, sleeping, baby Lauren Marie. I don't know why her parents are so worn out and exhausted. She seems like the easiest and most precious little baby to me ;) Babies are like vampires. When sun goes down they turn into something terrible.
The kids were beyond thrilled to meet her. I even got to give her a bottle.
Amy gave the kids Christmas gifts! She is the sweetest friend.
Then when I went in to check on her before I went to bed I found that her door was closed which usually means she is up to something so naturally I grabbed my camera before opening the door. I found her asleep on the floor in her Princess Tee Pee with 2 blankets tied together over her. She is inventive.
