Turkeys, Cows, and Fish oh my!

Every year my brother, Jacob, holds an annual Turkey Fry and Field Management Informational meeting for the neighbors of my parent's property in Loving, Tx. He has been doing it since Kellyn was just a baby. It always makes for a fun weekend.
I just thought this was a pretty picture of this old trailer.
Last year my brother had goats out there. The kids loved seeing the babies, but unfortunately they were all killed by a wild dog. This year my brother has Corienta cattle. He is going start raising grass fed beef! The kids LOVE feeding the cows!
Rhett and my dad went up to the barn to set up for the big lunch.
My dad fried 2 delicious turkeys. Everything was so good.
It was Thanksgiving.

The kids practiced casting and reeling.

The Property Manager, Jacob, took a quick nap on the 4 wheeler.  He is single, ladies. ;)

Uncle Jacob took Rhett for a ride around the property. He loved it. He got to help fill the hog trap, see the deer feeders, see a dead raccoon and see the girl cows. :)

Finally, after lunch and a nap with Rhett it was time to go fishing! It was so hot we had to wait until 6:00 to go. But the kids did great.
Fishing with Mommy.

Rhett played in a mud hole while Kellyn made a mud ball.

Fishing can be a lonely sport sometimes,

but it eventually pays off. I caught a 5.2 lb. catfish. Unlike last time, the kids did not cry, scream or run away when they saw Mommy struggling to reel in a big fish. They were much braver this time. Although, when my mom told Kellyn come here and look at it she responded with, "There is no way I am coming over there." So funny. I released it. Kellyn didn't want to see it die.

Rhett drove us back to the trailer in the mail jeep.

Yet another fun weekend out in the wilderness.
