Christmas Eve then Snow on Christmas Day!!!

We always spend Christmas Eve in Bartonville with my family. It was warm and dry and looked like Texas. The kids decorated this little tree in my parent's front yard. It reminded me of the Charlie Brown tree. :)

My hairy, brother just rolled in from a deer hunt in Kansas. He paid his only niece $5 to wrap and label all of his gifts. She was happy to do it and enjoyed the attention and the money. :)

Christmas morning!
Rhett is holding his Spiderman Web Shooter and Kellyn is holding her Barbie and Baby.

Then we went to Maw-maw's house for lunch and to open the gifts from my dad's side of the family. My Gran lives in El Paso.

Kellyn put her Barbies on Rhett's dinosaur. :)
And yes, Rhett dressed like Spiderman on Christmas day.

Our 6 year old took this picture of us.

And then it SNOWED!!!

It was so unbelievable and came down so fast and heavy.
Rhett actually told Santa and everyone that he wanted a snow machine for Christmas. Looks like God sent him the snow he wanted from Christmas.

They came inside to warm up and watch the snow fall, but they couldn't stand it and had to get back out there.

Snow angel!

It got this white in only 2 hours!

It was coming down like a small blizzard hitting us in the face.

We got home by 4:30 before the roads froze and watched one of the new movies Santa brought, Brave.  You can see the snow in our backyard.

The pure white snow falling on Christmas day was like a rainbow. After the devistation and deep sadness and loss of life that happened only a week and a half ago at Sandy Hook Elementary this snow on Christmas day felt like God's promise to hold us and take care of us and remind us how much he loves children and grieving with us. It was like the snow was falling to remind us that the pure and innocent children lost on that day are dancing in heaven with their loving Creator. We needed snow on Christmas Day to wash away our tears and grief and God knew that. I personally was dealing was some stuff and the snow just reminded me of God's pure, white, love for me. He sent his son, His only Son, to be born only to die for me and my sins, all my sins. What an amazing gift. It overwhelms my body and soul with gratitude and joy.
