Outside in February!

I thought last February was nice because we didn't get a hard freeze, but this year it's just Spring!

My heroes!

She's a good little worm hunter.

Miss Lily thinks she owns the road.

We have a swing in the front yard so I can sit outside and watch the kids play. One afternoon I looked up and saw this beautiful sight.
Then I looked over and saw the kids playing with the neighborhood kids. I love our little culdesac and since we are out front a lot we have gotten to know our neighbors and their kids. I love that my kids are socializing and interacting and playing and being creative and active outside with real humans instead of a computer. Not to mention the problem solving and social skills that only real life experiences can teach.
One of the kids always comes outside with his soccer ball and starts a "game." They all love it! Kellyn said she was the cheerleader. ;)

They also like to throw a stick in the street then mark where it lands with sidewalk chalk to see who can throw the farthest. I love that they just made up this game! It's great that they don't need an ipad to be entertained just good ole' fashion stick throwing.

They other fun toy we have our front is water. Our neighbor over waters and while it is bad for the foundation it is great for the kids. They love exploring in it, splashing in it, and floating things in it.

Rhett also enjoys fishing in it!

Kellyn likes to look at her dress in it. ;)

Now this is a legitimate puddle in front of OUR house from actual rain and not a sprinkler. Rhett immediately ran to get his fishing pole. :) He puts his toy alligator on the end of it then reels it in. He acts so surprised every time. As he can't believe he caught something. Cracks me up.

And since we babysit Elan 2 days a week she outside with us a lot too. She always so happy to see Kellyn when we pick her up from school.

But Rhett is the one that really spends all day with her.
It cracks me up that he opens his mouth to feed her.

Backyard fun!

I refuse to buy an expensive American Girl Doll so she is raking leaves to earn money towards buying it herself.
So thank you, February, for being so kind to us this year.
