On Thursday, February 6, when Bo was only 7 days old it snowed! Not iced! Snowed! The metorologists said it would simply be a light dusting and the roads would be clear so we got the kids ready and Max drove them to school.
It was cold outside, but we stayed warm by snuggling. :)
My friend, Meghan, called to see if Rhett went to preschool or not and how Max thought the roads were. So I called him about 9:15 to see what he thought. He said to tell her to stay home! He passed a few cars in the ditch, saw cars sliding, and it took him half an hour to get to school when usually takes 10 minutes. It was bad and not clearing up. The roads were slipperier than anyone expected. I got an email from the principal at noon saying that if you are picking up your preschooler at 1:00 then go ahead and get your older student as well. Then I got a 2nd email saying school was closing at 2:00. So Max picked both kids up at 1:00 and they played outside as the snow began to melt and the roads cleared.
Kellyn stayed inside holding Bo while Rhett played outside and ate snow. :)
Our school was closed the next day!
This was wonderful timing because we had our newborn and family pics on Friday, February 7, in Frisco and I was going to have to pick Kellyn up from school early, but this way we just stayed in our pajamas until noon then got ready and went. Hooray for snow days!
