Since my baby was sleeping 12-14 hours a night on a regular basis just like the others I felt like it was time for me to go back to my morning bootcamp and get this baby weight off. And my sweet friend, Meghan, gifted me 8 weeks of her bootcamp for free as my birthday gift back in May and just told to use it whenever I was ready. So Monday, January 4, was my first morning back and it was so great to see old friends and sweat again! I woke up at 4:50, pumped, and headed out by 5:15 for the 5:45 a.m. class in Farmers Branch. When we lived in Carrollton it only took me about 12 minutes to get there, but now that we live in Flower Mound it takes me 25 minutes. :( But it's so worth it. This is my only outlet from my crazy life. I need the friendships and accountability. When I got home from my first morning everyone was still asleep! This was going to work!
But then on January 17, 2016, Priscilla Hope turned 4 months old!
She is so cute and sweet, but growls like a dog and sounds like a creepy alien baby.
She also forgot how to sleep through the night. This is when I learned of something none of my other kids ever did...the 4 month regression.
This 4th kid has thrown me for a loop. She sucks her thumb when I was able to force a paci on the other 3 and she is no longer sleeping through the night after she did beautifully for 4 glorious weeks. My other 3 kids were all sleeping through the night by 3 months old and never looked back. Turns out there is a thing called the 4 month Sleep Regression which I had never heard of or experienced...until now. Has anyone else ever experienced this phenomenon? I am not a fan, but everyone tells me this is normal and I just got lucky with the other 3 being such super good sleepers. The other problem is that Bo has regressed as well. He used to be a great sleeper until Priscilla was born. They seem to tag team us. One cries then the other cries. I'm ready to move the baby out of our room and into her own room, but that would mean we would have to move Bo into Rhett's room and I hate to do that while Bo is still screaming when he wakes up in the night. I'm worried he'll wake Rhett up, but I've never had a baby still in my room this late in the game. I usually move them our at 2 months.
Needless to say, the first day back to bootcamp was the only day everyone stayed asleep. Priscilla and Bo began waking up at night making it very difficult for me to wake up at 4:50 a.m. to go to bootcamp. Sometimes I would just be getting back in bed at 4:30. It was rough, but I only missed 3 out of 24 classes. But it was an exhausting 8 weeks. I was super bummed to not go back for the next 8 week session, but it was too far, too expensive, and too exhausting at this stage. :(
