Our anniversary fell on a Tuesday this year. We were thinking about going out on that Saturday before, but my friend, Meghan Henderson, was kind enough to invite us to her house for dinner so I could get out and talk to adults. I had recently hit a really dark place was feeling very lonely and depressed. She literally came to my rescue just by cooking us dinner and our kids were so thrilled to see each other again. So we waited to celebrate the following weekend.
On Saturday, April 16, we went out to a fancy dinner at Table 13. I actually had an amazing weekend. On Friday night, my friend, Gina, called and she was having a mommy breakdown and wanted to know if I would go to dinner with her. Her husband told her she needed to leave and go for a walk and talk to friends and not come home until after everyone was in bed. We really need that sometimes. I was thrilled to oblige. I needed that myself. So we had a lovely 3 1/2 hour dinner at La Madeline. I got home at 10:15. It was just so refreshing to have adult conversation and eat dinner without feeding someone else at the same time.
Ok sorry back to Saturday. So Saturday was wonderful too! I went to Pilates Strength that morning then fixed everyone lunch and got the babies down for their naps then the big kids and I went to get our hair cut. I also got mine highlighted and I got my eye brows waxed. Rhett wanted a faux hawk and looks really cool now and learned how to style his hair and Kellyn agreed to actually cut 2 inches off of her very long hair and Lori curled her hair too. She loves when Lori curls her hair. It is so thick and pretty. My mom and dad picked up Rhett from the salon then drove to my house to pick up Bo and Priscilla and brought Priscilla to me to nurse in the salon while they then picked up Kellyn and then took all 4 kids to their house. Lori cut, colored, and curled my hair so beautifully. It was just what I needed. I felt like was going to prom like everyone else around me. :)
Max chose to take me to Table 13 in Addison for our 13th wedding anniversary. It was a really neat place. It is called Table 13 because that is the table the Rat Pack always sat at in the Sans Hotel which is what this restaurant is modeled after. We drank cocktails that were popular in the 60's and listed to a live band sing Frank Sinatra songs. We even bought their wine glasses that have the number 13 etched on them! Such a fun night.
We went early, at 5:30, so we could go pick up the baby at my parents' house. We got home a little before 9:00 after picking her up and she transferred from falling asleep in her carseat to her bed easily. Then she slept all night until 8:00 in the morning! It rained all day on Sunday. We went to church then lounged around the afternoon while Priscilla napped then didn't pick the other 3 up from my parents until 5:00. Probably the best anniversary weekend I could ask for. I desperately needed to feel human again and pretty again and get out of the house. I love my husband so much for knowing this and accommodating me. Happy Lucky 13, Babe!
