An Arkansas Anniversary - Part 2 (Bathing, Boat and Bluebonnets)

After hiking down the mountain we walked around bathhouse row and toured an old bathhouse at the visitors center and shopped around downtown. Here I was standing in the old timey women's locker room at the bathhouse.

I finally realized why Max wanted to go to Hot Springs so bad. It's a therapy town. The whole town is centered around hydrotherapy and exercise!

When we went to the spa in our hotel earlier that morning we sat in a old timey bathtub just like this one and sat in steam boxes similar to these.

That night for dinner we took a dinner cruise on the Belle of Hot Springs Ferry on Lake Hamilton.

Day 3 - Saturday, April 9
On our last day there Max set a wake up call for us at 7 a.m. so we could go back up the mountain for a quiet time with God and each other. I couldn't but take a picture of him reading and studying in God's creation. I am so blessed to have married such a wonderful, vulnerable, leader or our family, provider and protect, excellent role model and studly man.

Then we had the most delicious blueberry pancake breakfast and went to The Soapery before checking out of the hotel.

One last pic on our balcony before we check out.
Before leaving town we stopped to fill up scalding Hot Springs water in jugs.

The last place we ate on the way out of town. So delicious!!

We drove a little out of the way to see Garvin Gardens and it's chapel.

Then about an hour away from being home (I think Greenville) we saw this amazing patch of bluebonnets in front of, behind, all around this church. I can't even explain how much they covered. So we pulled over, got our suitcase out, put the camera on it and set the timer to take our own quick pic in the gorgeous sea of blue.

This will probably be our last vacation alone for a very long, long time as we will be paying for 2 kids to be in private school and extracurricular activities before we know it. I just wanted to make the most of our alone time together and I really think we did. Let's hope and pray we can keep it up with open communication and sharing and keeping God in the center of our talk times. Thank you, Arkansas :)
