It Is Only Friday. Sunday is Coming!!

Our church showed this video in service last week and the kids ask to watch it every day. It is so cute.

We have been trying to keep Christ in the center of Easter more this year now that Kellyn is getting older. So I got the kids Resurrection Eggs and they love them. We have been opening 1 a day like a 12 days of Easter kind of thing and re-reading what the last one was about so as to keep the story flowing and help her remember it. Each morning the 1st thing she says is, "Can we open the next egg now?" She is so excited to find out what is in each egg and to learn more about the story of Christ's death and resurrection. I love it!
Here they are reviewing the eggs before we open the new one for today.

Also this month we started memorizing scripture with the help of Truth Cards. Kellyn loves the pictures and thinks it's fun to see how quickly she can memorize a verse.

Then tonight, Good Friday, Max and I dropped the kids off at the Whittle's house so we could go to ‎"Journey to the Cross" at our church - an interactive experience that allows you to walk through some of what Jesus experienced His last days on earth. However, we hit a curb and got 2 blown out tires on the way there. As the tow truck was loading Max's truck a big rig truck driver that had been parked at the 7-11 we were stuck at came over to ask how much this tow was going to cost us. We told him it wouldn't cost anything because  we called AAA and we get 3 free tows a year. He went to talk to the tow truck driver then came back and haded us a wad of $20 bills totally $100. We tried to refuse the money, but we said, "I've been told to do something and when you are told to do something you listen and you do it." He was so kind and obviously following God's orders so we had to take the money. We gave $60 to the tow truck driver, $20 the guy that fixed Max's tires at Firestone because he argued with his boss about not pulling the truck into the bay because it would ruin the rims. Max really appreciated that. He worked on the truck in the parking lot. We are not normally such generous tippers, but since it wasn't our money we too felt lead that God was telling us do something good on this Good Friday. Then we kept the last $20 to buy ourselves dinner at Pei Wei. So all in all it still was a Good Friday. God just had different plans for us than what we thought. And we ended the day with a nice warm bubble bath.

This video is for adults and so powerful and so true! Praise God Sunday is Coming!!
