Rhett's 2nd Birthday Party - Part 2: The Fun, Friends & Family

Since Rhett's birthday is on a Wednesday this year we decided have his party on Monday, Memorial Day. We did this last year as well because Max just really wanted to have Memorial Day party and have all of our friends over so once again we decided to combine the two. Next year when he is 3 and his birthday falls on a Thursday we will have it the following weekend and it won't be on Memorial Day so he can have his own little party without all of our friends. :)  Last year I had the kiddie pool, slip N Slide, sprinkler and bigger blow up pool all set up in the backyard. This year my parents came over the night before to bring us some tables and the blow up pool. However, instead of bringing the blow up pool they surprised us with a brand new bounce house water slide!! It was the hit of the party for the big kids!! The little kids preferred the sandbox. I could not have pulled off a party with this many people without the help of my parents and grandmother. Max and Jacob helped out a lot too by hooking up outdoor speakers so I could play my beach party playlist on my new computer. I think the music made the party.

Rhett mostly enjoyed the kiddie pool.

Kellyn loved handing everyone their beach ball cup as soon as they arrived.

Kellyn and Kylie just had a blast running between the sandbox and the water slide.

Uncle Jacob even came to the party and hung out with the birthday boy for a while.

My parents gave Rhett a sandbox for his birthday!

Rhett playing with his buddy Hudson in the sandbox.

Rhett pretty much hung out with Joe-Joe the whole time. I like this picture because it is hard to get him smile on command and here he is giving a sweet little smirk.

Samuel and Rhett eating with Mimi. They are 2nd cousins 4 weeks apart.

Time to blow out the candle, but it was so windy and my lighter was empty so we just didn't even light it.
I think he liked his cupcake.

After everyone left Rhett opened presents.
Maw-maw gave him his very own lunch box which he caries everywhere now and Max's parents gave him this wooden truck set. He was so excited when he opened it.
He had so much fun opening presents.
Sitting with Daddy after long day of swimming, playing and eating.

What a great day. We are so blessed with so many wonderful friends and family who want to celebrate Rhett's 2nd year of life with us. We had so much fun talking and playing and eating together. Birthdays are a great excuse to have friends over!
