4th of July Weekend

First of all we kicked off the weekend on Thursday by making this cute door hanger. I originally found this idea on familyfun.go.com. It is called a Star-spangled Welcome, but I tricked it up a bit. I used some 4th of July scrapbook paper I found at Michael's and got the kids to put their handprints on some card stock, glued it all together on some cardboard, cut out a circle and painted Happy Birthday, America on it, the kids added a few sparkle sticker stars and bingo, bango, bamo.... a fun and festive door hanger with a personal touch!

Rhett singing Happy Birthday, America.

Then on Saturday, July 2, we went to the Patterson's lake house on lake Bridgeport in Chico.
1st got pics of the big kids, Caden, Kylie and Kellyn. Sweet Rhett is not really a big kid or a baby. He kind of falls somewhere in the middle so he clings to Mommy or Sister. Then we brought in baby sister, Landry, and baby brother, Charlie.

Uncle Jacob eating lunch with the girls. He rode up there with us.

After lunch we did a lot of swimming in the lake and riding on the boat.

I got to be in charge of the 2 sweetest boys ever, Rhett and Charlie, on the boat why Jennifer drove and Jacob wake boarded.  So fun! Kellyn and Kylie rode in the front of the boat the whole time.
I just thought this was a cute picture of Rhett with his bug catcher on the front porch.
We didn't stay to watch fireworks. We ate dinner, played a little more then gave the kids baths and left about 8:45. We dropped Jacob off at my parent's house then got home by 10:45. The kids were exhausted. Kellyn even took a 2 hour nap the next day after sleeping in until 9:30.
