Kellyn's Play Dates

We've been at the pool a lot the last 2 months, but sometimes it was just too hot to even go outside.

We went to the Homestead pool to swim with Presley who also took swim lessons with Kellyn and is in our Life Group.
We went to Phoebe's 4th birthday party at the Castle Hills pool.

Max and Kellyn met Cooper and Haley at Indoor Safari in Plano. He said the dads played miniature golf while the girls played.

This is Kellyn swimming with her buddy, Cash, at the Castle Hills pool for Jesi's 5th playgroup birthday party.

Kellyn had her friend, Caroline W., over to play for the day. Her mom dropped her off at 12:30 after her VBS at which time I got to meet 3 week old baby Hank for the first time!! Kellyn made a special bed of blankets for them in the living room to rest and watch a movie. They only watched half of it before they ran off to play dolls in her room. It was great for me because Rhett was napping and the girls were playing so well together that I had time to make blueberry bread. Then we turned on sprinkler and filled up the little baby pool. I wanted to use the big blow up slide, but the blower wouldn't work even though we used it just 2 days before. I was very frustrated! Then I took them to get snow cones before dropping Caroline off. The both got rainbow.

The next week we had the Rosene girls over. These girls are in our Life Group and just welcomed a new baby sister into the family. I thought their mom could use a break so we were thrilled to have them over to play. I turned the inflatable water slide on, but they barely touched it. They all wanted to play in the baby pool. Rhett had a great time with all the girls! Ainsley loved filling up the water slide pool after she had filled up the baby pool. They all loved throwing water balloons. But then the girls took them to the baby pool and let balloons float and slide down the baby slide and then popped them in the pool.

After lunch all four of them helped me roll cookie dough so we could bake cookies. What a fun day. Everyone played so well together.

2 days later we had 2 play dates in one day all before noon. Gabriel and Angelica came over from 8:30 to 11:00 because their mom, Sulayne who is in our Life Group, had to take her oldest daughter to the eye doctor. The girls had fun doing art projects.

....while the boys enjoyed playing with army men and dinosaurs.

Then at 10:30 the Anders kids came over!! I love talking to their mom, Cecilie for hours. Too bad they had to leave at 12 to go help a friend.

Everyone enjoyed playing with Lindsey's rats. We've had them for 1 week now.

With it being 102 degrees with a heat index of 112 no one wanted to play outside in the sprinkler, water slide or pool. We stayed inside the whole day. The house was a wreck, the rats were worn out from being played with by so many kids and mommy ended the day with a glass of wine. It was worth it to see how much fun the kids have seeing their friends. I've tried to have friends over more to help Kellyn improve her social skills. She was not so much the gracious hostess at the beginning of the summer so I thought we needed to practice. Now she is so kind, sharing, and giving when guests arrive. After allowing the guests so many privileges like getting to go first and choosing what to play I think she is ready to take a break from being the hostess and be the guest again. :)  The summer is such a good time to practice these things.
