The first week of Rhett's swim lessons he didn't do much. He didn't cry, but also didn't want me let him go or put his head under water. He was kind of a dud. But then at the begining of the second week he came alive!! I could not keep him above water. He would just throw his arms in the air and leap to me. Then when we sang songs instead of wanting me to hold him he kept saying, "under water, under water."
Last week he would barely put his head in the water and float like he was drowning. This week he throws his arms up in the air, jumps to me, kicks his legs and moves his arms in the water.
It is always hard to get him to smile for the camera, but in the water he is all smiles.
I recruited lots of my friends to take this class with us because I wanted Kellyn to be able to play with the older siblings while we swam with the babies. Here is Holly and Hudson with us with Kellyn and Presley watch from the side. They are also in Life Group with us and his big sister Presley took swim lessons with Kellyn. It's always more fun to have friends to talk to. My friends, Kelly, Cecilie and Karen and my neighbor Tiffani were also in this class with us.
His swim teacher kept using Rhett as the example since this week he suddenly became a swimmer over night.
He finally started putting his head under water and kicking his legs this week.
His teacher had him swim to me then practice putting his feet down when he reached the step. When she was done with him she moved to the next kid, but Rhett jumped back to her. The kid is crazy and loves the water now!! She is such a good teacher!
Wednesday seemed to be Dad's Day at swim lessons.
Here are few pics and a video I took of Max at swim lessons with Rhett. They seem to have fun together and Rhett is really learning how to swim. Again, their swim teacher, Lora Coonce is so good and cheap. She really delivers high quality lessons at a low price. We are so glad we found her, the best kept secret in Carrollton.
