After last month's traumas, I'm happy to say this month is starting off much better. Max met with a friend of ours, baby Lauren's dad, Jason, who specialized in software training and writing business plans, to help him with the new software training and help him set up a business plan. He is so gracious and kind to take time out of his own busy schedule and personal time to meet with my husband. He seems to think that Max's business will be easily very successful. So beyond grateful for wonderful, honest friends like these. I used to teach with his wife Amy and now we are trading services. I watch Lauren for a few hours and Jason helps Max for a few hours. What a blessing their family has been to ours.
It has been so warm these first few days of March that the kids wanted to put their swimsuits on to play outside. Rhett put his on over his Spiderman pajamas.
Kellyn had ballet on Friday morning and Rhett wanted to be a farmer. We got lots of looks and compliments at the store dressed like this.
My Bible Study has begun reading the book, "One Thousand Gifts" by Ann Voskamp. Let me just say it is amazing and could not have come at a better time in my life! I also got the One Thousand Gifts app for my iPhone where you take pictures of the things you are grateful for and it keeps a log of all of them for you. Here some early spring pic I took while taking the dog for a walk. It really makes you think about the world differently when you choose to see God's gifts to you in everything around.
On Saturday I thought Rhett was quietly napping while I was reading my book. However, he had silently opened his door and tiptoed into his sister's room. I found them whispering, trying on jewelry, and playing with pom poms. I clicked a pic for my grateful app. So blessed to have siblings who love and care for each other and play so well together....so far, finger's crossed. Who knows how long this will last.
Saturday evening we went out to my parent's house for dinner. My little cowboy always loves to ride when we go out there. I love it! I always thought Kellyn would be riding by now, but she wants nothing to do with it. What 5 year old girl doesn't want to ride horses. I mean she will ride if I make her, but she is kind of indifferent about it. So strange. Oh well, at least I have Rhett.
If you listen closely you can hear his sweet little voice say, "Yeehaw Cowboy." He said about every minute or so, just randomly said it. It was so cute.
Uncle Jacob was there too.
Yes, this is a miniature horse, not a Shetland Pony. And that is my old saddle from when I was Rhett's age. I kind of always pictured passing it on to my daughter, but that doesn't seem to be going to happen so Rhett can have it.
After a hard night or riding and playing in the sandbox they rested in their grandparent's bed and watched a movie while eating ice cream. That is such a grandparent thing to let them do. :)
After baby Hannah's dedication at church on Sunday we went to lunch at Nico's with our Life Group for her daddy's, Shawn, birthday. This is not Shawn. This is our Life Group Leader, Drew. He took the birthday sombrero from Shawn and sat back and relaxed. Later that evening we had Life Group at Drew's house. We needed to be surrounded with these people all day after last week. It was just good for the soul. So grateful for all of them and their wisdom and friendship.
