Zingo Game
Zingo Game
Welcome to the WeAreTeachers Blog Hop Stop #12. If you're just joining us, head back to the BLOG HOP LAUNCH POST to find out how the Blog Hop works so you can collect all of the necessary clues for a chance to win an iPad, a $50 gift card and much more!
As a participant in this blog hop, I've been asked to write a review of my favorite educational gift. I've chosen:
Product: Think Fun Zingo
Age range: 4 years and up
Subject areas: Reading, Language Skills, Speech, Concentration, good sportsmanship
Hot Deals: Target, plus Zingo To Go and Zingo 1-2-3 are both on sale at amazon.com!
Both my 3 year old son and 6 year old daughter love playing Zingo. We play Zingo about 10 times a day in our house. I finally broke down and also bought them Zingo To Go so they could play each other in the car now too. I first head about Zingo at a Discovery Toys party and have since seen it at other places. I often give it as a birthday gift.
Zingo is Bingo for young children. Rather than using the letter/number grid, it uses icons with the words beneath them for a variety of very common objects, which makes playing the game with small kids very easy. It uses a sliding revealer to call 2 items at a time making the game move quickly.
Kids learn to pay attention to what icons and words are on their board and what is being slid out by the revealer. The first person to call the name of the tile gets it. There are 2 or 3 of each symbol in the tiles... so you aren't out of the game if you don't snap up the first tile of a type. I really like that the game boards have two sides -- an "easy" side and a "tough" side.
This game is truly educational and fun. It gives children a chance to practice beginning reading skills, matching, memory, and sharing. It can also help children lengthen their attention span and practice self-control.
