Kellyn had the day off school last Friday and it was too cold in the morning to go to the zoo so we went to the new Perot Museum of Natural Science.
It was so fun! We ran into 3 of our friends that were there too.
The good: It was probably the most hands-on and interactive, kid friendly museum I had ever been too. There was something to push, pull, drop, turn, shake, you name it, on every floor.
We started at the top and worked our way down. The dinosaurs are on the 4th floor.
The bad: It was heavy in anti-creationism which to be expected at a science museum, but they had a whole wall titled, "Proof of the Big Bang" and a picture of Darwin and evolution was woven into every floor it seemed like. I just didn't read all that to the kids. They had too much fun playing with everything to stop and read anyways. :)
Kellyn loves rocks, gems, and minerals. She enjoyed turning the wheel to open and close this giant geode. And we had fun standing on the earthquake simulator.
It had warmed up significantly by the time we left.
Is that a fun shot of the museum in the background as we left. I love instagram!
