On Tuesday of Spring Break my mom took us to the Mayborn Children's Museum in Waco. It was awesome. It's 2 stories. Each room is a hands on play area for kids. Kellyn actually liked the cave on the other side near the cretaceous time period. She liked seeing the crystals and minerals. I didn't get pics of all they had, but they had a little neighborhood where the kids enjoyed the kitchen and pretend garden, mailbox, fire truck... There was an energy room where you could test energy and inertia, pioneer room, native american room, bubble room, music room and so much more. It was a great little day trip. Waco is only 2 hours away. We got there at about 11:00 a.m. then left the Children's Museum at 2:00 and head a few streets down to the Waco zoo and left there about 5:00 and headed home.
It was little weird to see type writers in a museum. I told the kids I learned how to type on a type writer. They were not impressed. But that really that long ago?
The sound booth was cool. They enjoyed taking turns being a DJ.
They both loved pumping water out of the ground.
Kellyn pretended to play the piano in the old church building.
They got to grind up corn into cornmeal.
I enjoyed the old school house.
And we ended with some cool robots.
I cannot believe we don't have anything like this in Dallas! Seriously! Step it up Big D!
Then we headed over to the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco.
They were looking at the alligators with their Mimi. Rhett's face is priceless. :)
This was the coolest thing. It's a slide inside the otter tank!

We ened the day with stop at Dairy Queen where we all got our own mini Blizzards. Mini Blizzards. That is brilliant. I had no idea they even existed.
Thanks, Waco, we had a great mini Spring Break.
As soon as we got home I had to rush out to a girl's night with our old Life Group girls. It was such a long day, but so worth it. I had missed the girl talk and enjoyed seeing them all so much.
We been to this museum. They added a few things since it seems (robot stuff typewriter). My kids liked the water bubble part the best. They used to have a mayan area, but I think they took that part down.
