Kellyn can ride her bike!

Also on Monday Kellyn learned how to ride her bike without training wheels. We had been trying to get her to want to learn since she was 5, but she didn't want to.  I told her all of her friends could ride their bike without training wheels and she just said she didn't care. She liked her training wheels. I guess I'm glad she doesn't give into peer pressure. :)  She picked it up very quickly which make me think she really could have learned how to sooner she just didn't want to. This was a flash back to potty training her. You just can't make her do anything she doesn't want to do. It has to be her idea. She has to be ready and willing to learn then she will. No amount of bribing will ever work.

Max used a great deal of patients in teaching her how to ride her bike just as I did in potty training her. He tried forcing her on her 6th birthday by buying her this cute bike with no training wheels, but she absolutely refused. She never really even rode her old bike that had training wheels all that much. She just wasn't interested in bike riding which drove Max nuts. I'm not going to lie, I kind of liked watching him struggle with her on this just I did in potty training her. :)

Then Spring Break came and she was ready and asked Daddy to teach her and she learned.
Rhett wanted to race her on his balance bike. :)

Rhett told her it's not a race. :)

 Aren't they sweet.

Monday was filled all kinds of excitement. :)

  1. Congrats.

My boy also learned at 6. He was very cautious and waited until he was really really ready for it. Some kids wait until they are really ready.
