On Monday, March 7, 2016, the official start of our Spring Break week, I drove the kids about an hour to the tulip farm in Pilot Point then on to the Frank Buck Zoo in Gainesville because the weather was calling for rain all week long. :( So we rushed out on first and only dry day. It was definitely cooler than expected. It was about 60 degrees and the rain came in sooner than expected too.We did not dress warm enough! It wasn't heavy rain, but just a cold mist all day until we got to the zoo where it definitely rained heavier. Max was supposed to take the day off and go with us, but he got sick and stayed in bed all day with a fever instead. So my mom helped me and we met my friend Jennifer and her 3 kids there too.
You get to pick your own tulips there which is so fun, but they are $2.50 per tulip. The kids picking got a little out of hand. Luckily their Mimi was there with her wallet to save the day, but seriously next time I'm going to say only 4 tulips per kid and that's it.

Can you even believe this is in Texas! So gorgeous.
Then we drove about 30 minutes up the road from Pilot Point to Gainesville to the Frank Buck Zoo. I really really wanted to take the kids there so Bo could ride the train, but of course the train was not running and by now it was pouring rain.
This cheetah wanted to get my kids and began racing them along the fence line.
We were there with my friend Jennifer and her kids, Kylie, Charlie, and Clacie. Kylie and Kellyn are in 3rd together at Lakeland Christian, but not in the same class. Sadly they haven't been in the same class together since Kindergarten.
When we got home we had the most beautiful tulips to brighten up our rainy day. Although I think we had way too many at $2.50 a piece.
Thank you, mom, for once again helping me manage all these kids and make it a great start to spring break, you are the best!
