Harassment at the Park

Everyday about the same time in the afternoon I take the dog for a walk and pull the kids in the wagon to the park. Today was no different except our friends were there today! We met about 5 of my mom friends and all their kids at the park to play today. When we got there there were 3 people with 2 big dogs sitting under the gazebo so I veered to the left so Miss Lily wouldn't see and bark at their dogs. We had been there for about an hour when Kellyn had to go potty so I took her behind a tree to squat. I tried to shelter her with my body as well while holding Rhett on my hip and Miss Lily on the leash. All of a sudden the lady that had been sitting at the gazebo with 2 other guys since before we even got there jumped up and yelled at me, "You should be arrested! I'm calling the police!" I said, "What? Are you talking to me?" "Yes! I'm calling the police about what you just did to your daughter!" I said,"What? She had to go pee. I couldn't let her pee in her pants!" Then we went back to playing on the playground for about 10 more minutes until everyone else decided to leave as well. I was not about to go home alone. I wanted to leave in the group.  As we were walking down the sidewalk with everyone to their cars a cop car pulled up a little ways down the the curb. The woman must have said, "look for the mom pulling a red wagon and walking a small dog. She is dangerous" because when I walked up to him, he rolled his window down and said kind of jokingly, "Are you the ones causing problems at the park?" I said, "My daughter had to go potty so I took her behind the tree because there aren't any potties out here." He kind of laughed and said who made this call? and I told him those 3 people sitting at the gazebo with 2 dogs and no kids. I said they seem creepy and they've been out here for at least 2 1/2 hours or longer with no kids and they have been smoking and staring at us like we were the ones that didn't belong there. He went to talk to them while we walked home. My friend Sarah, who was the last to leave, said he was still talking to them 10 minutes after I left and wasn't done when she left. Now I'm scared to go back to my own park because we are a very obvious bunch always pulling a red wagon and walking a cocker spaniel. Those people may have it in for me depending on what the officer said to them. This is my first bad experience at a park and I'm still a little shaken. I mean seriously? What you have done if your 4 year old had to go potty at a park with no potties and you were a good 10 minutes walk from your house? Obviously the police office agreed with me, but why were those people staring at us and our business anyways and why were they hanging out at a park with no kids while a bunch of loud kids ran around them? It makes me nervous. Praise God my friends were there at the park with us today of all days.
