Happy 35th Birthday, Max!

Thats right, I got in a wreck only 2 days before my husband's birthday :(  Happy 35th Birthday to my man, Max Dixon! Thank you for being such a great role model of a man for our children and being such a wonderful husband to me. I love you so much and I'm glad you were born!

That morning Rhett was following me around asking, "Where Daddy gun? Where Daddy gun?" So I had no choice but to give Max his birthday gift right away. He was shocked that I was able to get the gun he wanted from our friend, Tom. Max had seen his dream gun, a 40 caliber Sig Sauer, at the Lewisville gun show Tom was at last Sunday. He told me he finally knew what he wanted for his birthday. Tom came by the house Wednesday (the night before Max's birthday) with the gun while Max was at the Rick Santorum rally so the kids saw the gun and just had to keep a secret for a few hours, but that wasn't possible. Tom called Max and told him he had sold the gun to throw him off so he had no idea he was getting it Thursday morning. He was pretty shocked and excited. Now I get his old 9 caliber Sig and need to get my concealed handgun license, win, win.

Max wanted to spend the day with his son (Kellyn was at preschool) which was great for me since I didn't get to run my normal Tuesday errands. I needed to do a few things that are easier without a kid in tow. I was going to try give him some space and alone time and take Rhett with me, but didn't want me to. He is such a great dad. How sweet is it that he wanted to spend his day off with his kid and not on the golf course or something?

He took him to get his haircut while I went to my Bible study kid free. However, I think my son looks like Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber. The last thing I said before I left the house was, "Don't give him a bowl cut." Oh well, at least it nice bonding time for them.

Then he took him to Gymboree. I think Max likes that class just as much as Rhett does.

When they got back I had a cookie cake waiting for him. The kids told me to put a baseball and a football on it because Daddy loves to watch baseball and football.

I went to pick up Kellyn from preschool while Max put Rhett down for a nap. My mom came over to watch the kids while I drove Max around to all of his birthday surprises.

First we went to my dad's veterinary clinic to see Max's new office. He is starting his own staffing agency with my friend, Angie. Over the past 2 months my parents cleaned out the old back office that no one was using and hired their friend, Jose, and his crew to renovate and remodel it. When my mom came to my house to sit with the kids she gave Max the key to the office. He was so excited to go see it.

It looks amazing. Not all like the filthy thing it used to be. It has nice tile floor and fresh coat of paint. It looks brand new and pretty much if after all they had to do make useable.

From Flower Mound we went to Plano. I took him to the Apple Store inside the Willowbend mall to try to make him buy an ipad because he needs one for his new business and I knew he would be made if I spent that much money without consulting him first, but he refused to do it. He thinks he can get these other old computers to work. It's just a pride thing. He spent money on old, useless technology when he  knew he shouldn't have and now it's come back to bite him and he won't admit it. I was just trying to make his life easier, but he wants to win. Anyways, moving on.

He chose to eat dinner at California Pizza Kitchen which was very good by the way. We both had not eaten there in years and didn't realize how good it was. And instead of giving him a birthday dessert our waiter gave him a birthday shot of Patron tequila for free!

After that I ended up the night by taking him to get a Chinese massage at The Foot Place on Old Denton and George Bush across from Chic-fil-a and Wal-Mart. A friend of mine told me about this super cheap, but good massage she had. I called to ask her if she would recommend it for Max. She said she loved it, but her husband thought it was ooogy. Max is pretty open to experiencing knew and different things so I thought I would risk it for the price. We got a 70 minutes massage for only $30. It was just what I needed after the car crash and Max loved it. You don't take your clothes off. We soaked our feet in hot water while laying back in the big reclining chairs. They rubbed our neck, shoulders, head, calfs, shins, feet then we flipped our they did our back, neck shoulders and head again. But I was circle Light next time. I circled Medium and it was a bit much and Max circled Firm and he was in pain. But it was so good for the price. It's like the best little secret in Carrollton, Tx.

We got home after all that at a little before 8:00 p.m. just in time to put the kids to bed. It was a fun day.  I think 35 is a milestone and I just wanted to make it special for a special guy.
