On Friday, the end of Spring Break, we took a trip to the Arboretum with some of our playgroup/ Bible study friends. We got there at 9:00 a.m. and I'm glad we did because we got a good parking place and when we were leaving at 1:00 I saw that they were turning people away because the parking lot was full. It wasn't too crowded or too hot. It was nicely overcast. The kids all played well togther.
Here I have posted some of my favorite pictures from the day.
Oh I just LOVE Spring and Tulips!
Emily and Kellyn have been in playgroup together since they were 1 year old. Now they are both 5 and heading to Kindergarten next year. So sweet that they wanted to hold hands.
All the girls thought it was funny to mess with Rhett. I think he enjoyed the attention. Of course Kellyn is bitting her nails. She bites them when she is embarrassed, shy, nervous, excited, giddy.... It freaks me out and makes me worry she may have an anxiety disorder or something.
I just think it is so sweet to see these friends holding hands. Girls can be so mean and nasty to each other. Relational Aggression (Mean Girls) starts as young as age 3. It's nice to see the innocence of childhood captured here in these sweet girls. My friend, Laura, took it.
She loves her brother so much.
He looks like such a big boy here.
Everyone left except us and the Wilmarths. We wanted to stay and get our money's worth. So we went to play in the frog fountains. We told the kids they could take their socks and shoes off, but try not to get too wet since we don't have a change of clothes or towels. These last few pictures just epitomize the joy of childhood to me.
Of course they ended up wetter than expected, but it was fun. We ended the day on the tiny kid sized benches over by the wisteria. It smelled so good.
They still look a little wet.
Laura took this gorgeous picture of these tulips.
