Every year I make my family get their picture taken in the bluebonnets. I would rather send out Easter cards than Christmas cards in all honesty. I just feel that this time of year is one of change for us. Max and I were married on April 12, 2003 and Kellyn's half birthday is April 12. So I had her 6 months pics taken in the bluebonnets and continued ever sense. I had fake bluebonnets on the tables at our reception. I just love springtime in Texas so much. Bluebonnets are just this special little thing that only Texans have once a year for a fleeting few weeks. This year they came super early. We had to have these pictures taken on March 24! We usually like to get them done the weekend before our anniversary, but we couldn't wait this time. They are almost gone now. My friend, Melissa Gill, always takes them for us. I think bluebonnet pictures are her specialty. She never ceases to amaze me what she can do with a camera.
In the years past we went to this huge field in Denton, but this year I wanted something new and different so we went to this old house in Argyle that has a patch of thick bluebonnets in the front yard. It is so gorgeous. I wish we could buy and renovate it and live there with a few horses and a huge garden. But it's not for sale and we don't have the money. It just really represents the simple life that we all long for. Plus I have always wanted a house with a porch and cute columns.
Kellyn is 5 1/2 today. She starts Kindergarten in the Fall.
HOORAY, HOORAY, WE'VE BEEN MARRIED 9 YEARS TODAY!
HAPPY SPRING!
I know this post is over a year old, but I was wondering if you could tell me where that adorable house is? I live not too far from Argyle and want to get some bluebonnet pictures taken. I know the bluebonnets aren't really out yet, but I thought I'd drive by this place and see if that was an option.
