Easter Sunday!

I LOVE EASTER! It is the most wonderful time of year. The tulips, the bluebonnets, the hydrangeas, the beautiful weather, wearing white shoes, pastel colors, spring dresses, celebrating The Resurrection of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! I read on another blog that it is like the Super Bowl of our faith. Each year at this time of year we get to celebrate that Jesus is who He says He is! He is the sinless sacrifice for my sins. He died and rose from the grave for me, for my kids, for my husband, for my family, for you, for your family, for everyone who believes and receives this ultimate gift of grace.

"Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)"
Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I'm found
Was blind, but now I see
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed
My chains are gone
I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy rains
Unending love, Amazing grace

The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures

[2x]
My chains are gone
I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy rains
Unending love, Amazing grace

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow
The sun forbear to shine
But God, Who called me here below
Will be forever mine
Will be forever mine
You are forever mine

Our chains are broken. We've been set free!

We arrived at church at 7:40 a.m. The kids were surprisingly chipper considering how early we had to wake them up. They were just super excited to celebrate The Resurrection I guess.
Max's parents went with us to church.

Max's parents treated us to breakfast after church at the Egg and I.

Then came came the rain. It poured down rain from around noon until 4:00. We all took a nap (except Kellyn of course). She said Daddy just watched golf ball all day. Ha!

Rhett says, "Uncle Jacob is scary because he always shakes me."

We went to my parents house at 4:30 for their annual Easter Egg Hunt. It was very muddy and soggy so they just wore rain boots.

Getting ready to hunt.

Not sure what hunting candy filled eggs has to do with Christ's death, but maybe it came about from the Jewish tradition of hiding and hunting for the Matzoh at Seder. I don't know, just guessing, but the kids love it.

Sweet friends, Kellyn and Kylie.

Enjoying their bounty after the hunt.

Real Easter grass after the rain.

Thanks, Mom and Dad, yet another successful Easter at the Shaffer's.
