April Adventures

The weather really effects what we do.
It was nice in April. So nice that Kellyn put on her swimsuit and pushed Bo around on his little tricycle, but she did put one Rhett's old helmets on him first. :)

Rhett's friend, Brett, invited us to play with them at Hope Park in Frisco. This was Bo's first time there and he loved it!
It's become a tradition to stop at Double Dips on the way home from Hope Park. The owner was so nice he gave Bo a free tiny baby sized ice cream cone! He didn't know what to do with it at first, but caught on quickly. When we used to live in Frisco, before kids, this same man used to give our puppy, Miss Lily, her own ice cream cone too.

Rhett wanted to make slime one day so we did. He requested it be the color of brains or intestines.

Rhett started t-ball at the beginning of April, but due to all the rain outs we've only be able to play 2 games. The drought has ended!

Kellyn had recital pictures. She loves dance picture day because she gets to wear make-up. :)

It rained heavily one day and all the water collects at then end of our sidewalk. Max called and asked Rhett to push the water off the edge into the street. While we were out there a police car drove by and saw Rhett. They stopped and told him he was such a good, hard worker that he deserved to be a Jr. Police Officer and gave both boys a sticker!

Kellyn loves to wear her swimsuit after school and spray herself with water. :)

We spent the entire last weekend of April cleaning and packing and getting our house ready to sell. It was exhausting and emotionally draining. I cried more than once and in front of my in-laws. So we sent the kids to my parents' and took a much needed break and went out to dinner with Jennifer and Jacob at Whiskey Cake. Since it was so close to my birthday we told them it was my birthday!

Our realtor came and staged our house on Monday then the photographer came to take pics of it that afternoon, we had the house deep cleaned, and carpets cleaned on Tuesday, then we listed our house on Wednesday, April 29, and had 19 showings that day just from 4:00-9:00 p.m. Crazy!

We packed up and moved in with my parents for 5 days while our house showed every day. By the time we were allowed by in on Sunday night we had had 38 scheduled showing, 2 open houses, and 5 offers to choose from.
Playing at Mimi's house with
Mindy the mini and Bo the baby. :)

Rhett helped feed all the cows and horses one morning.

Kellyn rode horses.

Bo loves this tractor and gets so frustrated that he can't make it go like big brother.

Rhett actually had a t-ball game on that Saturday that wasn't rained out! So we had to drive from my parent's house in Bartonville to Carrollton for the game at 8:45 a.m.

After Rhett's t-ball game on Saturday morning we headed out to my parents' property in Loving, Tx. They bought a golf cart for the kids to drive around!

My sweet girl picked my a bouquet of wildflowers.

Rhett caught frogs while I fished.

Bo and my dad ate lunch on the picnic table.

It was truly an exhausting 5 days, but totally worth it to have sold our house so quickly without having to show our house and keep it clean with 3 kids living in it. We ended up not choosing the highest offer, but the one that would let us lease back for 2 months, rent free, after closing. Plus this couple wrote a letter describing how they had been out bid on multiple other houses so we felt for them considering this could very easily happen to us as we get ready to bid on houses in this seller's market. In their letter she said she is a 2nd grade teacher in the area and looks forward to raising their Christ-centered family in our home. Well, of course we had to choose them! We moved into this house when I was teaching 2nd grade and expecting our first child. We just really felt like God chose to bless this sweet couple through us. Now we are praying someone will show Christ's love to us and let us buy their house that will be perfect for our family of 6.
