March 1 - Happy Voting Day, fellow parents! What a great day to teach a very important history lesson to our children and model gratitude! I took my 2 youngest with me to vote today and while there noticed lots of other moms with double strollers as well. This made me think of how SUSAN B. ANTHONY and ELIZABETH STANTON paved the way in women's suffrage for all us women to have the right and privilege to be able to vote today. Susan B. Anthony FOUGHT for equal pay for women teachers, for coeducation, and for college training for girls. Anthony was arrested, tried, and sentenced to a fine (which she refused to pay.) We have an opportunity today to model for our children how we are NOT taking for granted what these women did for us. We are NOT forgetting our history. We have the freedom to make our voice heard and we are taking advantage of it. We are modeling for our children today the gratitude we have for those women before us. Momma's go teach your daughters.
