Visiting Granny

We visited Max's grandmother, Gloria Kennedy, back on February 20. She was put on hospice and lives in Grapeland. 2 and half hours away. We felt that we needed to rush down to see her and introduce our youngest 2 to her. I'll be honest. It was a rough trip. The big kids went to my parents house to spend the night so we were left with the littles and they do not travel well in the car. Priscilla screamed and Bo kept asking to go to the park because Max lied to him and told him we were going to the park to get him to get in the car. :(

We stopped at a Dairy Queen along the way so Bo go stretch his legs and Priscilla could nurse. While there we met a nice many from Africa who visited America in the 80's then decided to move here leaving his entire family behind. He has 4 children and they have been to see their grandparents twice.

But we finally made it and it was so worth it to see Max's Granny. Bo was happy their was a huge yard out front that he could run and explore.

Our visit with her was so great. The trip home however, was torture. Priscilla really hates the carseat after dark and Bo wanted out and away from the crying baby. We stopped for dinner at a shady McDonald's then got back in the car for more crying. Oh well. It is what is.

Gloria died on Sunday, April 24, 2016. She was 92. We took Priscilla with us to the funeral on Friday, April 29, since she is still nursing. Her husband died last year, but I couldn't go to his funeral because I was 4 months pregnant and very sick. Gloria made the best guacamole and yummy Mexican shortbread called pan de polvo. She will be missed.

This was Priscilla's 3rd funeral and she is only 7 months old. Sadly we were at this funeral on what would have been Maxx Mills' 39th birthday. It was a tough day.
